Confirmation of Travel Insurance

For standard needs when traveling abroad, your travel insurance card is sufficient. You will find the telephone number and policy number needed to report an insurance event on it.

In case a confirmation of insurance is required for a visa application, you can request it through the Fio servis service. If you wish to include co-insured persons in the confirmation, please provide their names and dates of birth. Also, contact us if you have special requirements, such as confirmation of liability insurance, listing specific insurance limits, etc. The confirmation is issued free of charge by the insurance company and sent to your email within a few days.

Which cards can I arrange insurance for??
You can get insurance for any payment card from Fio banka, including both debit and credit cards.
When does the insurance become effective?
The insurance is valid from the next business day after arrangement.
How long is the insurance valid?
The validity of the insurance corresponds to the expiration date of the card. In the case of automatic card renewal, it transfers to the renewed card. Important for travel insurance: The maximum continuous stay abroad is 90 days. After this period (unless you return to the Czech Republic in the meantime), the insurance ceases to be effective for that specific trip.
How can I cancel my insurance?
In your Smartbanking or Internetbanking, select the specific card and choose the cancellation option. If you prefer personal contact, we will gladly terminate the insurance at any Fio banka branch.
Is it possible to change insurance variants?
Yes, you can flexibly change your insurance plans according to your current needs. Simply do so in the mobile or internet banking card details, or at any Fio banka branch.
What is the age limit for obtaining travel insurance?
Travel insurance can be arranged by a cardholder up to 75 years of age.
What is not covered by travel insurance?
Pregnancy after the 6th month
Travel at a later stage is considered an increased risk, and costs associated with childbirth or newborn care abroad are borne by the traveler.

Alcohol
If an injury or damage occurs under the influence of alcohol, the insurance company has the right to reduce or completely deny the insurance payout.

Chronic illnesses
A standard policy does not cover the treatment of illnesses for which the client is receiving long-term medical treatment.

Trip cancellation
The insurance only covers the costs of alternative transport back to the Czech Republic if the insured person is forced to interrupt their trip abroad due to the death, serious illness, or injury of an immediate relative, or due to a natural disaster.
